Astral Dominion
04:17
|
|||
Astral dominion of the untold beyond; the radial point of human mastery. Buried in darkness, no anchor to drag. I have become the man I was meant to be. I reap all that I've sown in the utmost recompense. We carried the torch through the unknown and victoriously we’ve crowned our own. I have forged my path in the wake of progress, only to be revered. And still, in the rise and fall of the swell of doubt I feel the weight bearing down, bearing down. Buried in darkness, no anchor to drag. I have become the man I was told to be. I reap all that I've sown in waves of uncertainty.

Casting shadows, misdirection of fear; tales of lore in defiance of all we've built. Barren lands, boiling seas underneath a blackened sky. On their knees, they did pray for deliverance from endless night. Subjugate these lies with fault for the earth was guilty of treason; a betrayal of mankind. I refuse to believe our way of life is anything less than flourishing, for the tides of destruction that we left behind without fail would've buried us alive. Barren lands, boiling seas underneath a blackened sky. On their knees, they did pray for deliverance from endless night. In the absence of faith you can feel it writhing below. Don't submit to the whims of such flaw, stay the course and find faith in the stars. Question not what we are or what we've become, [but] what would've never been. Barren lands, boiling seas underneath a blackened sky. On their knees, they did pray for deliverance from endless night. Come the breaking of soundless dawn a new faction of hope was born. Generations have passed and now we're the bearers of life abound.

Setting Teeth

Rush of blood coursing my veins, without warning sentenced to die. Heavy heart, shortness of breath; temple of aegis now becomes our tomb. Suddenly nothing is safe, trepidation dulling my senses. Paralyzed in suspension of disbelief; drawn and quartered, disarmed to the teeth. Face to face with death, overwhelmed by panic and fear. In suspension of disbelief; drawn and quartered, disarmed to the teeth. Nothing to salvage save for our lives. Fractions of seconds, abandon or sacrifice. Rush of blood coursing my veins, hope is forsaken, we must escape. Heavy heart, shortness of breath, save ourselves or be left for dead. Foreordained, time is up. Self preservation, I beg of you. In the clutches of dire straits, lay down your sword or be laid to rest. With apprehension I must retreat, and force myself to overcome my greatest fear. Teeth clenched in terror, I feel it crawling up my skin. I feel it rising. I feel it closing in. And with my final gasp for air cold liquid spills over my lips and down my throat. My lungs writhe in fear. Rush of blood, flashes of horror fading away. Temple of aegis now a blaze of light. Darkness wash over me. Resonant frequency. Blackout.

Ebb and flow in between familiar places and those unseen, on brilliant streams of cerulean haze with violent torrents of crimson waves. In the frail light of stars I exist. In this acquiescence I am free. Behind closed eyes on the solar sea, in ataraxia floating weightlessly. In the florid light of stars I deteriorate, in this desolation I am cursed. Swallowed by the infinite expanse, and defined by the incessant rotation. Behind closed eyes on the solar sea, in ataraxia floating weightlessly. So helpless are those falling grains of sand with no foundation to reside. Echoes of familiar tones reverberate until they dissolve [into] visions over exposed, laced with sorrow, telling of home.

Arise, consumed by light; blinding flare to bloodshot eyes. Alive, or have I reached the end? Is this my final place of rest? Racing mind, clouded and confused. Summon strength, will these limbs to move. Focus, just focus; sift through the dread. Separate these dreams from reality. Shapes begin to form, consciousness restored. Loss cuts like a knife, vivid memories drained of life. With bloodless veins and fearful eyes I fall to my knees, stare at the sun, hang my head. I repine, fathoms from the kingdom beyond. Fathoms from the kingdom. Behold the scorched horizon; fields of wreckage laid to waste. Condemned to this washed out world; this ravaged earth to which I'm damned. To which I’m damned.

Stirred by the sound of death ringing in my ears. Expelled from the ether [and] cast back down to this wasteland, among fallen remains [and] coalescing shades of grey. I stare vacantly, my eyes diffuse. Only barren land, my forlorn grave. Rising from the ash, monolithic, towering above these ruins. I feel its pull, some strange magnetism drawing me to its core. The cull of steel and stone. I falter beneath its looming shadow with each painful step I endure. Skyward and silent, disparaged and abandoned; nothing as it seemed. I feel myself unravelling. Sorrow flows through me as her voice resounds through distant whispers. As I reach the summit, step out on the edge, look down with labored breath and embrace the end. Before I seal my fate, one final glance at a lifeless world. The outlying distance defies all logic. Eyes frozen in wonder. I stare beyond fallen remains and coalescent shades of grey, where signs of life abide. Where signs of life abide, beyond the fallen remains.

My eyes burn as I try to focus in the onrush of disbelief. In the wake of the impossible, I try to keep one foot in front of the other. I feel it all coming down. Withstand [and] survive as I try to understand. One foot in front of the other, desperately, I feel it all coming undone. Fragments of sound converge in recollection forming discernible sound. Words engraved in stone now diminished to dust upon this earthen floor. Beneath my feet as colors begin to change, I try to keep forward the earth beneath my feet. Focus, I feel it fading away. The earth beneath my feet, I feel it fading away...

To An Earth Abandoned
03:44
|
|||
In the warmth of the sun between parting clouds, I lie motionless. Summon my last ounce of strength despite the voice in my head. In my final waking moment, to an ocean of air, I release and succumb. Though our being fled from the earth our fate is still bound. Air in my lungs, hands in the dirt, cold and brazen. No salvation from above, neither star nor sky. Eyes grow heavy in the slowing of thought and blood. To an earth abandoned, I return.
